An experienced goalkeeper coach with a distinguished playing career, Giacomo began at just 14 years old when he signed with the SS Lazio Youth Academy. At 16, he signed his first professional contract with SS Lazio in Serie A. He appeared in the Europa League under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri and represented the Italian Junior National Team in multiple international tournaments. He later played senior football with Monterosi Tuscia and Aglianese Calcio.
He holds the Goalkeeper B Licence, bringing formal high‑performance methodology to his work. Giacomo has coached at the professional level in Australia, serving as Goalkeeper Coach for Western United FC in the Senior NPL and Academy programs. He is currently the Senior Head Coach at George Cross FC, leading goalkeeper development across senior and youth pathways.
Our training model is built around Giacomo’s program — a framework grounded in Sports Science and Sports Economics. His evidence‑based approach shapes how we train, evaluate and develop every goalkeeper, ensuring a structured, modern and high‑performance environment.

TALENT IDENTIFICATION
Head Coach & Founder Diogo Ferreira has a broad knowledge & understanding on what an all round talented footballer looks like. With his past and present roles in professional football, he will ensure that each footballer with a high potential is guided down the correct path to play at a level where their quality belongs.
EACH SESSION INVOLVES
70 min specialised goalkeeping session with a specific focus each week

8AM - 9.10AM — Foundation Group
9.10AM - 10.20AM — Development Group
10.20AM - 11.30AM — Advanced Development Group
11.30AM - 12.30PM — Youth Performance Group [AGES 14-18]
PLEASE NOTE: As part of our performance-focused development approach, groups are now determined by each players stage of development. Group placements will now be adjusted to ensure every player is training in the most suitable environment.
ALL NEW PLAYERS WILL INITIALLY BE PLACED IN AN AGE BASED GROUP BEFORE BEING ASSESSED.

TOURNAMENTS
All of our academy players will be eligible for selection to represent us in chosen tournaments throughout the year. This aims to provide each player with a sense of purpose, the opportunity to train towards a goal and play for DF FOOTBALL ACADEMY.
